Rob Passons has only been in journalism since about 2006. A Minnesota native, he left more than two decades ago, working all sorts of construction and manual labor jobs. He'd been looking for a way to get back when a job opened up at the Mille Lacs Messenger. He currently works as a features writer and outdoor reporter for the Messenger, where he said Editor Brett Larson allows him to experiment with more creative "gonzo journalism."
